LOCAL RESTAURANT - ELECTIVE PLANTING DESIGN
This project was a classic example of typical urban development. the site was brand new and existing trees were required to be accounted for and preserved under the regulations of the City of San Antonio, TX. I drafted a Landscape Plan in conjunction with a Tree Preservation Plan. Coordination with the Civil Engineers, Architects and Developer was crucial in order to properly design the site to work with all regulations across all disciplines.
These were the critical design elements included on the project:
1. Ordinance Compliance Calculations to meet City Code requirements plus additional points for Elective Landscaping.
2. Standard planting details for trees & shrubs.
3. Plant Schedule consisting of required plants plus additional shrubs and trees to enhance the site with color and texture.
4. Required Calculations for Tree Canopy Cover to satisfy the existing and proposed tree amounts onsite.
5. Areas of enhanced landscape beds, ground cover and tree density that go above and beyond minimum requirements.
6. General Notes, Construction Notes and Specifications to clarify construction practices for the General Contractor.
