This urban oasis in the heart of a quiet neighborhood in Des Moines, Iowa is all focused on creating spaces for people to be. There are very thoughtfully designed spaces for all occasions in this back yard living space. The expansive patio is a great place to host parties. The bar and lounge space are great for the family and guests. And the abundance of lighting lets the space be used to it fullest extent well into the evenings.
This unique sunken fire pit is an original feature. It is a special spot and attracts everyone when they enjoy the patio space. The most dramatic feature is the infinity pool! This above ground infinity pool sporting a sleek black exterior is a beautiful feature and even more stunning when the lights illuminate it.
As expected, you can find lots of plants and planting beds surrounding the patio and gathering spaces. The balance of hardscape patio space is well balance with soft and color foliage. And to top it off, the plants seen here in the foreground (Karl Forester Grass) are native to Iowa and are a tip of the cap to the educational background of the designers of this project.
