INTERDISCIPLINARY COMMUNITY DESIGN
This project was a collaboration between architects and landscape architects. We put together a design plan for a local area in Ames, Iowa that consisted of new eco-friendly homes, local small scale farming, sustainable practices, and wind energy. our analysis of the environment and local creek informed our choices for the placement of these design elements.
In addition to the community design, I also studied wildlife on this site at a moderate to large scale. I studied the Field Sparrow and how this are supported the Field Sparrow and how things could be improved. I studied the larger area to understand the context. I studied vegetation and how it all fit together on maps. I developed maps to visually represent the data and determine conclusions on how the Field Sparrow was thriving and also being impacted by the urban developments and humans in general.
